After our inaugural production of TAPE in 2009 we were forced to take a break from producing shows for various reasons. We appreciated your support throughout the last year, and we are happy to let you know that we are back with another provocative production by Rm.6 Theatre!
This year we are taking of the challenge of producing “This Is How It Goes” by Neil LaBute as part of the 2011 Philadelphia Fringe Festival.
Staged in a continually shifting moral ground where nothing is sacred and the unexpected is a given, “This Is How it Goes” unblinkingly challenges the audience’s notion of gender, ethnicity, and even love itself. Powerful, profane, and above all unpredictable, “This Is How it Goes” is a devastating exploration of the myriad ways in which the “race card” is played by both black and white in America.
In keeping with our mission of bringing the basics back to theatre, the show will be staged minimally, without the fancy dressings of overproduction. This, combined with our highly disciplined acting technique, keeps the focus where it belongs: on the story-- the actions of the characters and needs that drive them.
This is an exciting time for us. As part of the Philadelphia Fringe Festival we intend to reach a broader audience, building our base and aiding in the expansion of the company. We have the firmest of intentions to make this our best show to date!
